Living on one dollar a day- The Movie (Livingonone.org)

1.1 billion people worldwide live in extreme poverty, subsisting on just one dollar a day.

Yesterday I watched a beautiful movie called “Living on One dollar” on Indieflix in which the makers of the movie stayed in the village of Peña Blanca in Guatemala on a total of $56 for 56 days.

The movie shines a brilliant light on extreme proverty by showing the daily challenges faced by the people of Peña Blanca as as well as the the power of community, microfinance loans, and our willingness to be a voice for those who might not otherwise be heard play in rising to and overcoming the challenges of extreme poverty, by helping people in need in getting basic education, basic health care, adequate nutrition, reliable work, and basic housing.
