Dare to Change Challenge 11/16/07

November 16th, 2007

I was reading through some notes I had taken from a lecture by one of my motivation mentors John Di Lemme, and one of the ideas he discussed was the idea of seed time and harvest.

In order to get a harvest you have to have a season of sowing and nourishing the seed, and then in time you will reap the benefits of your sowing. But the point that he raised that really got me thinking this morning was

“Seeds need moisture. If there is no moisture, there is no harvest.”

Many of you have a dream. Your dream is the seed that you must sow within your life. Many of you think that you are pursuing your dreams with your current actions, but are you really?

For a farmer the cycle of sowing and harvesting is a consistent system which demands focus, commitment, blood, sweat, tears, and sacrifice. Are you committed to doing the same for your dream? How seriously are you pursuing your dream? Are your efforts consistent? How much time to you spend with your dream? A good farmer spends time with his seed, watering it and fertilizing it and being attentive to its needs.

How much time do you spend nourishing your dream?

Do you have a dream or just a fantasy?

The challenge for today is to identify one action that you can complete today towards the fulfillment of your dream and then to do it. If after reading this, you cannot make the commitment to take action on your dream, odds are you don’t want it bad enough.

My dream is to help encourage others to pursue and become their dreams. So today, one of my steps was to sow this challenge within your heart. Did it land on the fertile soil of your heart, or did it got lost in the rocky soil of your fears, doubts, and complacency?

I will do my part to nourish the seed I have sown.

Can you say the same?
