Change Yourself First - Words of Wisdom

“When I was young and free and my imagination had no limits, I dreamed of changing the world. As I grew older and wiser I discovered the world would not change. So I shortened my sights somewhat and decided to change only my country, but it too seemed immovable. As I grew into my twilight years, in one last desperate attempt, I settled for changing only my family, those closest to me, but alas, they would have none of it. And now I realize as I lie on my deathbed, if I had only changed myself first, then by example I might have changed my family. From their inspiration and encouragement I would then have been able to better my country, And who knows, I might have even changed the world.” - Author Unknown

Movie Recommendation: You Must See The Movie Once

Name of Movie Recommended: Once
Wakeuplife.org Grade: A++

Film Synopisis-A Dublin-based busker and vacuum-cleaner repairman enters into a fruitful relationship with a piano playing florist in a toe-tapping “video album” directed by John Carney and featuring a cast comprised entirely of professional musicians.

My Take- This movie is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen; the music and the actors interact together in a way that is unique and inspiring. It has the kind of heart that you rarely see in movies. The music within this movie is the bridge that connects you to the heart of the two main characters, and it is nothing short of magic. I loved the passion in this movie so much that I bought both the movie and the CD online immediately after the movie was over.I highly recommend this movie, and have the feeling you will want to see “Once” more than once.

What others thought of it:
It is one of the few films that in has been given a standing ovation in 7 years at the Sundance Film Festival where it won the “World Cinema Audience Award” in the dramatic category.

“A little movie called Once gave me enough inspiration to last the rest of the year,”-Steven Spielberg in a USA Today Interview

“It’s a magical, beguiling wonder.”, Peter Travers of Rolling Stone
